The Poultry Chain Sale highlights months of hard work by our youth exhibitors, who receive their chickens as day-old chicks and raise them all the way through fair season. Along the way, they learn responsibility, animal care, and dedication before bringing their best birds back to the fair to be judged and sold. Some exhibitors earn premium awards, while others have the opportunity to take their chickens home and continue building their own flock. It’s a special program that helps young exhibitors grow their skills while supporting the future of agriculture in Crawford County.

Poultry Chain Sale

The Crawford County Fair Livestock Sale is the highlight of fair week, showcasing the hard work and dedication our youth exhibitors have put into raising their animals. Buyers have the opportunity to support these exhibitors through both premium and terminal sale options — choosing to add a monetary premium while the exhibitor keeps their animal, or purchasing the animal through the terminal sale. This event not only rewards months of commitment and care, but also helps invest in the future of agriculture and the next generation of Crawford County leaders
